What is Functional Intracellular Analysis?
Functional Intracellular Analysis also known as FIA. It is a blood test from Spectracell laboratories used to measure vitamin, mineral, antioxidant and essential micronutrients in your body. A substantial report on 30 factors will be reviewed with you in detail.
Why is it important for me to have this test?
There is an abundance of research that has confirmed the link between the condition of your health and its effects on the disease process. It is possible to be deficient in essential nutrients and not even know it. Therefore it is advisable that you know the current status of your intracellular health. Having this knowledge will give you the power to make any necessary changes needed to put your body in optimally functioning condition, halting or even reversing disease.
I already take vitamins and live a healthy lifestyle, do I still need this test?
The FIA test will give you concrete proof that what you are doing may or may not be working. Your unique micronutrient level may be very different from someone else. This test takes into consideration metabolic biochemical needs and differences. Absorption of vitamins and minerals can fluctuate depending on your health status as well. Your age and your lifestyle will also be considered in this unique test. There is no other test that takes all of these factors into consideration.
Does insurance pay for this test?
If you have a PPO insurance plan, then this test will require a co-payment. If components of the FIA test are not a covered benefit, then you will be responsible for payment. Medicare also reimburses when these tests are ordered for diagnostic purposes.
